History of
Dola & Rahul Banerjee Sports Foundation (DRBSF)
The Dola & Rahul Banerjee Sports Foundation (DRBSF) was established in 2018 with the vision of nurturing young sporting talent and promoting grassroots sports development in India, particularly in the field of archery. Founded by Olympians Rahul Banerjee and Dola Banerjee, the foundation has consistently worked towards creating a structured and inclusive platform for athletes to train, perform, and excel at state, national, and international levels.
Since its inception, DRBSF has actively participated in major competitive events, beginning with the West Bengal State Archery Championships. Between 2022 and 2024, the foundation’s archers achieved remarkable success across four editions of the State Championships, earning an impressive tally of 10 Gold, 20 Silver, and 16 Bronze medals.
At the National level, DRBSF athletes have demonstrated exceptional consistency and skill, collectively securing 53 medals, including 24 Gold, 14 Silver, and 15 Bronze medals. Their outstanding performances have also extended beyond national borders—DRBSF-trained athletes have represented India with pride at International competitions, earning 10 medals (1 Gold, 6 Silver, 3 Bronze) and contributing to India’s growing recognition in the global archery community.
To date, 8 international participants from the foundation have competed under the Indian flag, reflecting the organization’s commitment to high-performance training and holistic athlete development.
Guided by Olympic experience, scientific training, and a strong value system, DRBSF continues to build champions of tomorrow—empowering young athletes to pursue excellence and represent India with pride.
