Our Impact
Role of DRBSF
The Dola & Rahul Banerjee Sports Foundation (DRBSF) has been at the forefront of developing archery across Eastern India, particularly focusing on tribal and underprivileged communities. Building on its success in West Bengal, DRBSF has extended its outreach and development initiatives to tribal regions of Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh, where archery is deeply rooted in local culture yet lacks formal infrastructure and coaching support.
Through talent identification camps, community engagement programs, and specialized coaching workshops, DRBSF has been instrumental in transforming raw talent from these regions into competitive athletes. The foundation’s inclusive approach ensures that young boys and girls from remote villages receive structured training, access to equipment, and opportunities to participate in recognized competitions.
In West Bengal, DRBSF played a key advisory role in the establishment of the Bengal Archery Academy at Jhargram, with the Government of West Bengal. As an advisor, DRBSF contributed its technical expertise, training framework, and long-term development model to help create a sustainable, high-performance ecosystem for archery in the state.
A strong emphasis is placed on empowering women and tribal youth, fostering leadership, confidence, and social mobility through sports. This initiative stands as a model of how sport can serve as a catalyst for community development and social change.
