From Vision to Victory – Building India’s Next Generation of Champions

Founded by Olympians Dola Banerjee and Rahul Banerjee, the Dola & Rahul Banerjee Sports Foundation (DRBSF) was born out of a shared dream — to democratize access to world-class sports training and create pathways for young Indian athletes to rise from grassroots to glory.

The Beginning – A Vision Rooted in Purpose (2015–2019)

DRBSF started with a simple yet powerful belief: every child, regardless of background, deserves the chance to dream through sport. What began as a small initiative to support aspiring archers has grown into a comprehensive model of talent identification, athlete development, and community empowerment. Early years were dedicated to building the foundation’s philosophy — combining Olympic discipline with inclusive opportunity.

Building the Base – Expansion & Recognition (2020–2022)

  • DRBSF formally launched its Archery Academy in Kolkata, creating a structured environment for training, mentorship, and competition.
  • Bengal Archery Academy was established in collaboration with the Government of West Bengal, with DRBSF playing a key advisory role.
  • Athletes began earning state and national medals, validating the foundation’s developmental approach.

The Breakthrough – From National to International Podiums (2022–2024)

  • DRBSF athletes achieved their first international medals, including podium finishes in World Ranking events.
  • The foundation recorded its first double gold at the National Games, marking a historic mileston
  • Collaborations began with major institutions such as Gameskraft Foundation, Corporation for grassroots and CSR-driven sports programs.

The Momentum – Scaling Impact Nationwide (2024–Present)

  • DRBSF operates multiple training centers and partnerships including: Bengal Archery Academy (Jhargram) | Vedanta Archery Academy (Lanjigarh) | Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (Odisha) | Alpha Sports Academy (Bihar) | Archery Training Centre (Haldia Refinery) | Birla High School (Kolkata) | BALCO (Korba) | Damodar Valley Corporation (Latehar)
  • A DRBSF Founder has been appointed to the Indian National Team, a proud testament to the academy’s growing credibility
  • Focus areas expanded to coach education, women’s sports empowerment, and data-driven performance monitoring.
  • DRBSF initiated talent scouting programs and CSR partnerships across India, building a sustainable ecosystem of sport and community.
  • Foundation continues to host zonal, state, and national selection trials, promoting competitive exposure and athlete readiness.

The Future – Towards India’s Sporting Renaissance (2025 and Beyond)

DRBSF envisions establishing a National Centre of Excellence for Archery and Multi- sport Development, powered by sports science, analytics, and inclusive access. Its long-term mission is to:

  • Nurture 300+ athletes through structured grassroots programs.
  • Train 15+ certified coaches under Olympian mentorship.
  • Develop CSR-led high-performance hubs across 5+ states.
  • Contribute directly to India’s Olympic and Khelo India vision.
